They come from companies like EqualLogic, EMC, RSA, Symantec and VeriSign and are collectively responsible for some of the Internet's best known distributed computing standards including: HTTP Cookies, SSL, HTTP Proxying, Server Push and Global Load Balancing.

 

Ali Jenab, CEO

Ali Jenab, CEO

Ali Jenab, an industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience, was the CEO and president of SourceForge. Prior to that, he was with VA Linux and played a key role in transforming the company from a Linux hardware server company into a software, services and media company that included SourceForge. Jenab also spent 17 years at Amdahl Corporation, rising to group president of Amdahl's Technology Division. Previous roles at Amdahl included VP of Strategic Business, VP of Worldwide Marketing and VP of Systems Marketing where he was responsible for S/390, Unix and NT server and storage products.

Jeff Whitehead, Vice President of Technical Operations and CTO, Co-founder

Jeff Whitehead, Vice President of Technical Operations and CTO, Co-founder

Most recently Jeff Whitehead spent more than two years as CIO of Shutterfly. At Shutterfly Jeff led the IT and production operations staff through a rapid growth phase from less than one petabyte of online storage to more than six petabytes while improving availability from less than 99% to more than 99.99%. Prior to its acquisition by Shutterfly, Jeff was co-founder of Memory Matrix and led all technical operations. Jeff was previously Director of Operations for Shopping.com, Dealtime and Epinions. Jeff began his career in Silicon Valley as one of the first website administrators at Netscape developing techniques commonly known now as global load balancing.

Most recently Lou Montulli was VP of Engineering at Shutterfly. Prior to its acquisition by Shutterfly, Lou was co-founder and CEO of Memory Matrix, a company that built highly scalable consumer photo services applications. Prior to that Lou was a co-founder and director of operations at Epinions.com. Lou was a founding engineer at Netscape Communications where his responsibilities included the first cross-product networking and caching libraries, cookies, and many other key innovations in HTTP and HTML. Lou was a key early innovator in the web having written the Lynx web browser while at the University of Kansas.

Dave Ferretti, VP Worldwide Sales

Dave has over 20 years experience in creating and scaling worldwide sales for technology/SaaS companies. As VP WW Sales for StoredIQ, addressing eDiscovery, compliance and storage management in one platform, Dave closed the company's first foundation reference customers. Previously Dave was VP Channel Sales for EVault, an early SaaS backup/recovery solution provider acquired by Seagate Technology, where he developed over 50 revenue producing channel partners. Dave also ran worldwide sales for Xerox Corporation's enterprise software division delivering the first web-based content management system. Dave holds a BS Business & Computer Information Systems degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder – Leeds School of Business.

Gary Sevounts, Vice President Marketing

Gary is a high-tech industry veteran with proven success in the development and implementation of marketing strategy and programs for cloud technologies. Gary joined Zetta from Panda Security, the cloud-based endpoint solution provider, where his most recent position was vice president of marketing. Before Panda Security, Gary held senior leadership roles in marketing and product management at Symantec, Hewlett-Packard and Quarterdeck. At Symantec, he was a co-founder and senior director of product management, marketing and business development for Symantec Health, a cloud-based archiving and sharing service for healthcare organizations. Gary holds a bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from the Armenian State Engineering University and an MBA from the British-Armenian School of International Business.

Chris Schin, Vice President Products

Chris Schin is responsible for coordinating all product-related initiatives. This includes product strategy, direction, and marketing, as well as business model and go-to-market process definition.

 

Prior to joining Zetta, Chris was acting GM and Senior Director for Symantec Protection Network, Symantec's Software as a Service platform. Prior to joining Symantec, Chris launched and ran a highly successful consulting practice helping technology startups with market research, strategy creation, TCO and competitive analyses. He has also served as director of product management at both Blue Titan Software and Intersperse Software.

Jason Harrison, Principal Engineer, Co-founder

Jason Harrison, Principal Engineer, Co-founder

Jason Harrison was most recently a senior engineer at Shutterfly. Prior to its acquisition by Shutterfly, Jason was co-founder of Memory Matrix and led the core engineering effort to build their flagship photo services product. Prior to Memory Matrix Jason spent several years as the engineering lead and principal architect for Seascape, an innovator of non-stop, integrated control systems for large sailing vessels.
